Mathematics Laboratory is a place where students can learn and explore mathematical concepts and verify mathematical facts and theorems through a variety of activities using different materials. It provides an opportunity to students to understand and internalize the basic mathematical concepts through concrete objects and situations. At VGS it is compulsory for the students to attend one math lab class in a week where they are taught a concept through some hands on activity.
Science educators have believed that the laboratory is an important means of instruction in science. Our students try to master:
1. skills – manipulative, inquiry, investigative, organizational, communicative
2. concepts – hypothesis, theoretical model, taxonomic category
3. cognitive abilities – critical thinking, problem solving, application, analysis, synthesis
4. understanding the nature of science – scientific enterprise, scientists and how they work, existence of a multiplicity of scientific methods, interrelationships between science and technology and among the various disciplines of science
5. attitudes – curiosity, interest, risk taking, objectivity, precision,confidence, perseverance, satisfaction, responsibility, consensus, collaboration, and liking science
6. Effective teaching and learning of science involves a perpetual state of show and tell. Teachers at VGS combine classroom teaching with laboratory experiments to ensure that their students grasp each and every concept thoroughly. It is also believed that laboratory teaching and experiments that are being conducted there help encourage deep understanding in children. Children are able to retain the knowledge for longer when they see the experiments being performed in front of their eyes.
It is said that Geography is the bridge between the humanities and varied as those required by the scientists. Therefore a special room or laboratory is as necessary for the geographer as for the scientist. Students understands nature activity both erosional and depositional. Map work makes them understand the spatial differentiation in the world.

Students are allowed to access internet for their projects in different subjects and also for ICT (Information and Communication Technology) subject. They learn the importance of computer system in human life. We can accommodate entire class consisting of 40 students in Computer Lab at a time where all students are given individual systems to work upon.
Lab has an overhead projector for explanation purpose and also to show related videos for displaying the real world scenario.
